Porsche has been spotted testing what seems to be a face lifted 911 at the Nürburgring.

The test car pictured might look like just another 911, but has actually undergone some minor changes, as only Porsche can. A more angular front bumper has been equipped as well as a redesigned, slimmer daytime LED, making it very difficult to tell the current and face lifted models apart and which should keep current 911 owners happy.

Early reports have also hinted that Porsche has been investigating the possibility of building active aerodynamics into the 911. This would take the form of front air ducts that are able to close a certain speeds, aiding aerodynamics and potentially increasing top speed and reducing fuel consumption.

There are also new rear air ducts that are meant to channel air out of the engine bay, which points to this particular car sporting a more powerful engine than the normal 911.

We could then be looking a 911 GTS making an appearance, and which could be fitted with a 3,8-litre flat-six that has around 317 kW.

The rest of the 911 range will remain unchanged, although we are told that the new 3,6 and 3,8-litre flat-six engines have both been Euro 6 emission certified, which will hopefully translate into some fuel savings for buyers.

Porsche has also categorically denied the inclusion of a turbocharged four-cylinder engine on the 911, saying that the force-induction engine that has already been confirmed for the Macan will make its debut on the Cayman and Boxster.
