RPM TV Ep374: Suzuki Baleno, Renault Kwid, Fiat Abarth 595 Tributo, Mercedes-AMG CLA45
Smaller than a VW Golf, but bigger than the popular Swift, the all-new Suzuki Baleno links nimble dynamics to a roomy, comfortable interior. It’s well priced, too. We drive it in the Eastern Cape.
Another small car newcomer is the Renault Kwid, a slightly unusual and pleasantly quirky alternative to more conventional entry-level compacts. Can it emulate the success of the larger Clio and Captur?
Staying with compact machines, the characterful Fiat Abarth 595 Tributo Cabriolet is neither cheap nor practical. But it’s quite the little racer in performance terms, bringing real individuality to the pocket rocket segment, with a grin factor to match.
Also squarely in the performance car camp is the latest, updated version of the Mercedes-AMG CLA45. The ultra-rapid four-door offers more urge, better handling and an overall more engaging driving experience.
Finally, our Fiat 500X long-term test car makes short work of Mpumalanga’s wet and muddy dirt roads, and earns its stripes, thanks to a Mopar-approved decal kit.
