The new-generation BMW 5-Series seeks to link business-class tech and comfort to real dynamic appeal. In fact, it borrows heavily from the range-topping 7-Series. This week, we drive the sophisticated sedan on the Garden Route.

Next, the all-new Toyota CH-R is a daring, left-of-centre crossover from a company best known for its conservative designs. Will the quirky compact attract the attentions of a younger audience?

Also defying conventional categorisation is the Audi Q2, a lifestyle SUV that links hatchback-rivalling dynamics with the brand’s most daring design in years. But character and class come at a price.

The versatile and capable Fiat 500X doing duty in the RPM TV long-term test fleet visited a Fiat dealership for a scheduled service and oil change recently. We report back on the experience.

On the news front, the eagerly-awaited Nissan Navara Double Cab has finally arrived, while the Engen Xtreme Audi team is hoping to continue its winning form when the Sasol Global Touring Car racing series kicks off in Cape Town this weekend.

This week’s show premieres in its usual time slot at 20h30 on SuperSport 8 on Wednesday 22 March. As last-minute changes to the broadcast schedule are frequent, please check the latest transmission schedule under ‘Motorsport’ on the SuperSport website’s ‘TV’ section, or the DStv Electronic Programme Guide.

If you have a PVR decoder, set it to record the entire RPM TV series, and never miss an episode! You can now also catch us on DSTV CatchUp, under ‘Sport’ in the ‘Motor’ category.
