RPM TV Ep389: VW Amarok V6, Renault Clio GT-Line, BMW M3 Competition Pack, Jeep Renegade 1.4T
Volkswagen set the cat among the double cab pigeons when it launched the original Amarok pick-up. But those who’ve lusted after more power ever since have had their wish granted with the arrival of the VW Amarok V6 TDI. The substantial extra shove comes with a mild facelift, too. We drive it on and off the road.
The Renault Clio is the French marque’s most successful car ever, and the same is true in South Africa. The new Renault Clio 1.2T GT-Line adds a bit more brio and some welcome junior RS character to the popular little hatchback.
The four-door BMW M3 might be the more understated version of the in-you-face M4, but it’s still a fire-breathing sedan – and that’s even more so in the case of then BMW M3 Competition Pack. More power is only one of aspects that make this version worth driving.
Finally, the Jeep nameplate conjures up images of large, rugged all-terrain beasts. But the Jeep Renegade is the antithesis of that notion – small and cute. Still, as our test of the Jeep Renegade 1.4L T 4×4 Limited proves, there’s more to this compact off-roader than meets the eye.
